The Acer Swift Lite 14 wins in build quality, thanks to its full aluminum body construction, compared to the ASUS laptop's plastic chassis. The use of aluminum on the Acer laptop not only strengthens it but also makes it more premium to the touch. It is also much more compact, leaner, and lightweight.

When it comes to the design, both look quite decent, and neither is particularly more attractive than the other. The displays of the two laptops are also quite similar. They both feature OLED FHD+ panels that deliver accurate colors and decent brightness. However, there are some differences.

The ASUS Vivobook 16's OLED display is larger but doesn't get brighter than 300 nits. On the other hand, the Acer Swift Lite 14 has a smaller OLED display, but it can get much brighter at 400 nits.

The ASUS Vivobook 16 OLED is equipped with the 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13420H, an H-class processor. The Acer Swift Lite 14, on the other hand, has a newer 15th Gen Intel Core Ultra 5 115U. Although the latter is a lower-power U series, its new and improved architecture makes up for it, coming close to the performance of the 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13420H.

The performance of both chips will be extremely similar in day-to-day tasks. You will only see the difference in heavier applications, such as Blender, Handbrake, Adobe Premiere, etc.

However, in gaming performance, the script flips. The Intel Core Ultra 5 115U inside the Acer Swift Lite 14 wins, thanks to its newer Arc Xe-based GPU architecture. However, neither iGPU is powerful enough to play AAA games and is just good enough for some light gaming on the side.

For upgradability, you can only upgrade the SSD inside the Acer Swift Lite 14, while the ASUS Vivobook 16 OLED allows both RAM and SSD upgrades.

Battery and pricing

Both laptops have the same battery capacities, but the Acer Swift Lite 14 has a lower-power U-series and a smaller display. Therefore, it consumes less current and delivers better battery life in the long run. You can expect around 5-6 hours on a single charge easily.

On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook 16 OLED may manage only 3-5 hours at best. When it comes to pricing, the Acer Swift Lite 14 wins big time. It costs ₹53,890 on Amazon, while the ASUS laptop costs ₹67,990. That's a huge price gap.

Which is the best mid-range laptop?

Before we answer that, let's judge what the two laptops have to offer. The ASUS Vivobook 16 features a larger display, along with better productivity performance and upgradability. On the other hand, the Acer Swift Lite 14 consists of a compact, slimmer, and lightweight body, with better gaming performance and battery.

The Acer laptop also has a huge advantage in pricing. Therefore, consider the Acer Swift Lite 14 as the best mid-range laptop at this price range. You wouldn't suggest the ASUS Vivobook 16 OLED unless you specifically need the large display and slightly higher performance.
