Consumers used to Apple's open-air design will love the AirPods 4. However, many users prefer the traditional rubber-tip design, which tends to be more comfortable during long listening sessions, or at least, that's how I feel. Their snug fit also provides better stability.

Additionally, the Buds3 Pro have better build quality, thanks to their combination of plastic and metal in the body’s construction. Overall, Samsung wins in design, build quality, and fit.

Sound and mic quality

Samsung has always tuned its earbuds aggressively, and the Galaxy Buds3 Pro are no different. They have a pair of 11 mm dynamic drivers and a planar tweeter for a dual-driver setup. This delivers balanced mids and highs, along with stronger lows, resulting in a fuller sound with greater depth compared to the AirPods 4.

The AirPods 4, on the other hand, offer a more neutral sound profile. They have a custom driver and Apple’s H2 processing chip, delivering good sound quality, though not as impressive as Samsung’s Galaxy Buds3 Pro.

However, the one area where AirPods 4 excel is spatial audio with head tracking, making audio playback more immersive and realistic. Microphone quality is another area where Apple's offering shines.

While both earbuds offer great microphone quality, the AirPods offer better noise cancellation, ensuring cleaner voice transmission in noisy environments.

Both the Apple AirPods 4 and Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro have separate active noise cancellation (ANC) variants, which cost more.

Samsung offers better ANC features because they have rubber tips, which create a better seal. The AirPods 4 provide decent ANC features that block out many low-level sounds, but they cannot match the Galaxy Buds3 Pro.

Battery life, charging, and pricing

The AirPods 4 can deliver up to five hours of playback per bud on a single charge, or about four hours with ANC on. With the case, you will get 30 hours total and 20 hours with ANC.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Buds3 Pro can last up to seven hours per charge, or six hours with ANC on. With the case, they provide 30 hours total and 26 hours with ANC.

The Apple AirPods 4 cost ₹11,999 for the standard variant and ₹16,900 with ANC. Similarly, the Galaxy Buds3 Pro Galaxy Buds3 Pro are priced at ₹13,199 for the standard model and ₹18,999 with ANC.

Which earbuds are better?

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro outperform the AirPods 4 in design, build quality, sound quality, ANC, and battery life. Therefore, they are the better choice for most users looking for a new pair of earbuds.

You shouldn't buy the AirPods 4 unless you are in the Apple ecosystem or want better spatial audio.
